   Proposal Description:
   For dementia, we only have medications (e.g. Donepezil) to improve symptoms   temporally and still lack of drug to delay progression. On the other hand,        several medications induce cognitive impairment, for example, benzodiazepines     and anti-depressants. To manage older adults??? prescriptions, American           Geriatrics Society provides Beers Criteria for Potentially Inappropriate          Medication Use although it is not specific to dementia or cognitive impairment.   In order to prevent drug induced cognitive impairment and dementia, we apply      the big data analytical methods, Machine Learning, to NACC UDS dataset to         identify potential drugs inducing cognitive impairment. we will evaluate the      prediction performance of different algorithms in terms of the leave-one-out      AUC score. This is an exploratory project.
